Sergei Maximishin

Sergey Maksimishin’s photos were published in all leading Russian printed media, as well as in The Times, Time, Newsweek, Parool, Liberation, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Stern, Buisness Week, Focus, Der Profile, Corriere della Sera; he is a multiple award winner of RussiaPressPhoto and World Press Photo who travelled the whole world. He was making photos of Iraq on the threshold of war and famous “blind courts” of St. Petersburg, views of Katmandu and abandoned children of the new Russia, Chechen war and scenes behind the scene of the Mariinsky Theater, a prison hospital and panoramas of the city seen from roofs. In 2007 he published a book illustrating the post-Soviet landscape: The Last Empire. Two Decades Later. Another book, One Hundred Photos, is in print.
